Detroit Pistons
Detroit needs this season to officially conclude so it can get its fans excited again for the future. The Pistons have a solid core with Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, and Bogdanovic, and will pick one of the top players in the upcoming NBA Draft. Is it time to start dreaming about Victor Wembanyama in the Motor City?
Detroit dropped its ninth straight game on Sunday, falling 128-102 to Orlando. The Pistons scored just 44 first-half points, including 15 in the second quarter. The Magic shot 57.3 percent overall, including 17-for-33 (51.5%) from long range, and outscored the Pistons by 14 points in the paint. They led by as many as 30 and never trailed by more than one point.
Brooklyn Nets
Brooklyn moved one step closer to the playoffs with its win over Utah. After winning three consecutive, it will host Minnesota Tuesday in a pivotal game for both teams. Will the Nets ride their momentum into the playoffs and shock the basketball world with a first-round win?
Brooklyn led by as many as 23 points versus Utah, but needed to hold on for a close win after the Jazz stormed back with 42 fourth-quarter points. The Nets were outrebounded (-12 rebounding margin), shot under 30 percent from three-point range (9-for-32), and were outscored 60-42 in the paint. It wasn’t the most impressive performance, but Brooklyn got the win it needed.
Tips of the Game
The Nets are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings between these teams. Brooklyn is 6-7 ATS with zero days’ rest between games and 7-9 ATS as road favorites this season.
Brooklyn has a much more important game to play at home on Tuesday versus Minnesota and will look weary at times on Wednesday in Detroit. The Pistons will be playing at home on Tuesday and will look more comfortable than the Nets. While Brooklyn is unlikely to lose straight-up, it won’t cover by double digits. Ivey and Hayes will show no hesitation to let it fly with just a few games left in the season.
More likely to bet on the Pistons to pick up their third ATS victory over the Nets this season.
